O R D E R

The petitioner asserts that he purchased land in new survey No. 390/5 and has been in possession thereof for a considerable period of time. Upon coming to know that an error was committed during the Natham survey whereby the land was wrongly classified as 'street', the petitioner submitted a representation dated 25.07.2025 to the District Collector. By this Writ Petition, he seeks early disposal thereof.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that proceedings under the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905, have been initiated against the petitioner. Without prejudice, he submits that the petitioner's request would be considered and disposed of on merits.

3. Therefore, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 25.07.2025 on merits within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date 2/4

of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. For the avoidance of doubt, it is made clear that this order will not stand in the way of any proceedings under the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905. No costs.
