PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to accord permission to celebrate the Arulmighu Shri Chettichi Amman Temple festival, during crescent of every year Tamil Panguni month, the forthcoming April 11th of 2024, wherein the Petitioner will perform the demonic spiritual performance and to direct the 4th Respondent to provide Police Protection on the date of festival, by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 27.06.2023.

Heard both sides.

2.The subject matter pertains to celebration of village festival. For conducting such festivals, permission from the authorities is not required. If, according to the petitioner, the fifth respondent is acting in breach of the civil Court's decree, it is open to the writ petitioner to initiate proceedings

before the civil Court for punishing the fifth respondent for breach of the decree.

3.With this observation and granting the aforesaid liberty, the Writ Petition is disposed of. If any petition for police protection is submitted, it is for the jurisdictional police to take a call in the matter.
