Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to grant permission forthwith and police protection for 'Cultural Karakattam Program' from 29.09.2025 at about 10.00 P.M to 01.00 A.M of 30.09.2025 and 10.00 P.M of 30.09.2025 to 1.00 A.M of 01.10.2025, in connection with "Temple Festival" of Sri Mutharamman at Seelathikulam, Kumbikulam Village, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District in the light of representation of petitioner dated 21.09.2025.

ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus to direct the second respondent to grant permission and police protection for conducting 'Cultural Karakattam Program' on two days, i.e., 29.09.2025 and 30.09.2025 between 10.00 P.M and 1.00 A.M, in connection with "Temple Festival" of Sri Mutharamman at Seelathikulam, Kumbikulam Village, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 21.09.2025.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that permission cannot be granted for conducting the programme for two days beyond 10.00 PM and that the respondents would consider granting permission to conduct the programme on one day within the time specified by the authorities, if a fresh representation is sent by the petitioner. 2/4

3. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to send another representation to the respondents. There shall be no order as to costs.
