ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.07.2025 and 1/4

to construct a bridge across the drainage channel in front of the petitioner's land which will be the only access to the other side of the road.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submits that the respondent has no objection to the construction of the bridge. However, it was submitted that the said bridge shall be constructed by the Public Work Department at the cost of the petitioner.

3. Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the Public Work Department, though not impleaded as a party to this petition, shall give necessary instructions.

4. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh application to construct a bridge across the drainage channel in front of the petitioner's land, within a period of two weeks and thereafter, within a week, tentative charges shall be communicated to the petitioner and upon receiving the amount, the work shall be started as expeditiously as possible. 2/4

5. With the above observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
