ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner is the sole accused and he was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 10.12.2013 for the commission of alleged offences under Sections 7, 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Crime No.9 of 2013 on the file of the respondent police and he seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is employed as Special Sub Inspector of Police and for dropping a case in Crime No.285 of 2013 on the file of Thattarmadam Police Station, Thoothukudi District, he demanded a illegal gratification of Rs.15,000/- from the defacto complainant and accepted a sum of Rs.10,000/- towards the same and a trap was laid and he was caught red handed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ petitioner is falsely implicated in the case and he has nothing to do with the alleged commission of offences.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the investigation is pending.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the period of incarceration already undergone by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner subject to certain conditions. Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to be released on bail on executing a personal bond each for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thoothukudi and on further condition that the petitioner shall stay at Trichy and report before the Trichy Cantonment Police Station daily at 11.00 a.m for a period of four weeks and thereafter as and when required.
