ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.94/2022 on the file of the first respondent Police, which was registered for the offences under Sections 296(b), 324, 506(2) of IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2022.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that due to a property dispute, the petitioners attacked the defacto complainant with their hands and a stick and also abused her in filthy language and thus committed the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the defacto complainant/the second respondent would submit that the parties are closely related to each other and also would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise on the advise of the elders 2/9

and well-wishers and both the parties have agreed that the impugned F.I.R may be quashed.

4.The parties have also filed a joint compromise memo. The scanned copy of the compromise memo dated 10.10.2025 reads as follows:

5.The first petitioner, namely, Remigius Jayakumar (Aadhaar No. 4761 4487 3738), the second petitioner, namely, Solomonraj ( Aadhaar No.9581 3109 3927), the third petitioner, namely, Sahayaraj (Aadhaar No.9903 2726 1828) and the second respondent, namely, Renifreeda (Aadhaar No.5905 3472 2659) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M.Jayanthi, Head Constable, Samayapuram Police Station, Tiruchirappalli District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

6.Considering the nature of the offences, the relationship between the parties and the fact that the parties have arrived at a compromise, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.94 of 2022, on the file of the first respondent police, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 22.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No tta 7/9
