ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by C.V.Karthikeyan, J.) The Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking the production of the petitioner's daughter. The daughter is approximately 25 years old. It is contended that she was studying in the final year of M.Sc. at Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy, and has been missing since 23.08.2025.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, it was informed that the detenue had been produced. It was further informed that she had entered into a relationship with the fourth respondent. The petitioner had also arrived from Musiri, Trichy District, along with his wife, who is the mother of the detenue. We permitted them to have a discussion among themselves. We also examined the detenue, her parents, and the fourth respondent. The detenue expressed a firm opinion that she wished to reside only with the fourth respondent. She also stated that she intends to complete her M.Sc. Computer Science course.

3. We conveyed this decision to the parents, who were advised to reconcile with it. We also had a discussion with the fourth respondent, who assured us that he would take care of the detenue and would not prevent her from completing her studies. The detenue stated that she would arrange to stay in a hostel in Trichy to complete her studies.

4. In view of the firm decision taken by the detenue in this regard, and considering that she is not under unlawful or illegal custody, we are inclined to close the Habeas Corpus Petition. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
