ORDER

This petitioner seeks a direction to the learned Additional Mahila Court, (J.M. Level), Theni, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.50 of 2023 and complete the same within a time frame fixed by this Court. 2.The petitioner is facing prosecution in the abovesaid case for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 406 and 498(A) of IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

3.Learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the charges in this case were framed in the year 2024, the witnesses remained absent and because of the pendency of the case, the petitioner who is a government servant is put to several hardships. 4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, per contra submitted that L.W.1 to L.W.4 were not present on 07.10.2024 and the case is now posted for their examination on 28.10.2025.

5.The Hon'ble Supreme Court has repeatedly held that time frame cannot be fixed for disposal of the case. However, considering the fact that the petitioner is employed as a Sub-Inspector of Police and the pendency of the case is likely to affect his career, the learned Judicial Magistrate may consider expeditious disposal of the case. 7.With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
