PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to take appropriate action on the Petitioner's complaint/representation, dated 09.11.2023 and to provide necessary police protection for mining operation in the land ad-measuring to an extent of 4.38.5 Hectares in Survey Nos.187/1 and 200/1A at Thambikottai Vadakadu Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, in terms of license granted by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government Industries Investment Promotion and Commerce (MMC.1) Department vide his proceedings in G.O.(2D).No.23 dated 10.10.2022 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to take appropriate action on the Petitioner's complaint/representation, dated 09.11.2023 and to provide necessary police protection for mining operation in the land ad2/5
measuring to an extent of 4.38.5 Hectares in Survey Nos.187/1 and 200/1A at Thambikottai Vadakadu Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, in terms of license granted by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government Industries Investment Promotion and Commerce (MMC.1) Department vide his proceedings in G.O.(2D).No.23 dated 10.10.2022 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that even though a case was registered in Crime No.128 of 2023 on 08.07.2023, so far as representation that was made by the petitioner seeking police protection dated 26.11.2023 is concerned, it is stated to be pending. He would further submit that so far the petitioner has not produced the relevant documents.
3.Let the petitioner appear before the respondent police and produce all the documents. The representation be disposed of by the respondent police within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, by summoning the petitioner and the objectors. The particulars of the objectors must be furnished by this petitioner. 3/5
