PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to pass appropriate orders in promoting the petitioners as Associate Professors in the Department of O and G in any Government Medical College, based on the Joint Representation dated 22.11.2023, within a time period to be stipulated by this Court. ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by Assistant Professors of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working in the 3rd respondent Medical College seeking a Mandamus for promoting them as Associate Professors.

2. As per the contentions of the writ petitioners, a panel for the post of Associate Professors for the year 2022-23 was approved by the 2nd respondent herein by his proceedings, dated 10.07.2023. Admittedly, the name of the petitioners have been included in the said panel. The panel has been forwarded by the 2nd respondent to the 1st respondent. So far, the 1st respondent has not passed any orders approving the said panel 2/5

and promoting the petitioners as Associate Professors. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. Considering the above said facts, the 1st respondent is directed to consider the panel approved by the 2nd respondent on 10.07.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight

(8) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
