ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.240 of 2021 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Section 147, 447, 294(b), 323 and 506(1) of IPC.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners trespassed into the defacto complainant's land and caused damage to the basement of the construction; that they had abused her in filthy language; and that they had attacked the defacto complainant and her brother with hands and wooden log besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent are residents of the same Village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 13.10.2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.P.Balamurugan, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Batlagundu Police Station, Dindigul District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.240 of 2021 on the file of the first respondent is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
