ORDER
The petitioner sought for quashing of the impugned FIR in Crime No.225 of 2025 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences 1/4
under Sections 329 (4), 296 (b), 351 (3) BNS r/w. Section 25(1)(a) of Arms Act.

The gist of the allegation in the impugned F.I.R is that the petitioner and the defacto complainant are neighbours; that on account of prior enmity, the petitioner had trespassed into the house of the defacto complainant and threatened him by showing a huge knife and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the second respondent would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 22.10.2025.
4. The petitioner and the defacto complainant / second respondent and the victim are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.C.Kamaraj, Thanjavur Taluk Police Station, Thanjavur District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them. 2/4
5. Considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.225 of 2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 22.10.2025 shall form part and parcel of the order. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the High Court Legal Services Authority attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
