2. One Subbammal passed away on 27.08.2023. The petitioner claims that she was his aunt and that apart from him, there is no other legal heir. It is true that even a Class II Legal Heir can apply for issuance of legal heir certificate.

3. The respondent is directed to hold an enquiry and pass an appropriate order on the petitioner's application. This exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. The issue is left to the discretion of the respondent.
