2.The writ petitioner opposes the proposed construction of a fair price shop in the petition mentioned site. The case of the writ petitioner is that only in the site in question, an idol as well as the palanquin are placed during the festival occasions. If construction is put up in the vacant site, there will be no place to lay the palanquin. 3.I find from the photograph produced before me that the road is sufficiently broad. The palanquin as well as the idol can very well be placed in the road itself during festival occasions. On such occasions, traffic can be diverted and the road may be temporarily blocked to facilitate the smooth conduct of the event. This shall be the standing direction issued to the revenue as well as the Police authorities. 4.This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
