PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent No. 2 to dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 11.09.2023 seeking relief to cancel the patta in respect of the Government pathway in S.F.No.374/1 in Patta No. 319 situated at Pillapalyam Village, Krishnarayapuram Taluk, Karur District within stipulated time fixed by this Honble Court.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the respondent No.2 to dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 11.09.2023 seeking relief to cancel the patta in respect of the Government pathway in S.F.No.374/1 in Patta No. 319 situated at Pillapalyam Village, Krishnarayapuram Taluk, Karur District.
2. By consent of both sides, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission itself. Considering the nature of the order proposed to be passed in this Writ Petition, protecting the interests of the respondents 5 and 6 also, notice to the respondents 5 and 6 is dispensed with. 2/4
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner made a submission that an appeal filed before the District Revenue Officer under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983 is pending.
4. During the pendency of the appeal no further action needs to be taken. However, the second respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
