PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the respondent to file a final report as contemplated under section 173(2) of Cr.P.C in Cr. No. 156 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police within stipulated period fixed by this court.

ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking direction to 1/4

the respondent to file a final report as contemplated under section 173(2) of Cr.P.C in Cr.No.156 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police within stipulated period fixed by this court. 2.The petitioner is the defacto complainant in Crime No.156 of 2022, which was registered for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 379 of IPC and Section 4 of TN Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. The grievance of the petitioner is that though the case was registered in the year 2022, so far no progress is made in this case.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent would submit that within a month, investigation will be completed and the final report will be filed before the concerned court. 4.Recording the submission and accepting the request made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, there shall be a direction to the respondent to complete the investigation and file a final report within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5.Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands disposed of. 11.12.2023 NCC :
