O R D E R

The petitioner is an Ex-serviceman. He was allotted land for a house site in December 1991. Subsequently, after recording that the said land is not in the possession and enjoyment of the petitioner despite the lapse of 31 years and also taking note of the requirement for such land, the assignment was cancelled.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the land could not be put to use at that point of time because the petitioner joined the services of the Defense Security Core. He submits that the petitioner retired therefrom in 2014. He seeks consideration of the request for an alternative house site.

3. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for all the respondents. He submits that the Thasildar would consider and dispose of the petitioner's request on merits.

In these circumstances, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for an alternative house site within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to petitioner.
