Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issuance of passport to the petitioner by considering the petitioner's application file No. MD1065620001525 dated 11.09.2025 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court. 1/4

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue a passport to the petitioner by considering the petitioner's application bearing file No. MD1065620001525, dated 11.09.2025, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner made an application for issuance of passport before the first respondent on 11.09.2025. However, till date, the said application has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has filed this present writ petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent would submit that the criminal case registered against the petitioner has already been closed by the competent Court and that, as on date, no criminal case is pending against the petitioner.

In view of the above submissions, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's passport application dated 11.09.2025, after obtaining the verification report from the second respondent. If there is no criminal case pending against the petitioner, the first respondent shall issue the passport in favour of the petitioner immediately thereafter, and in any case, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
