ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to ensure the peaceful conduct of the sprouting (Mulaipari) festival of Arulmigu Piriyathi Amman temple, as resolved in the peace committee meeting held on 25.07.2025.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instruction, would submit that there was a dispute between the petitioners and the rival parties, who are shown as respondents 6 to 11; that a Peace Committee Meeting was held on 25.07.2025, in which all the parties had participated; that in the meeting, the parties agreed that the festival would be to conducted jointly and that if all the parties comply with the decision taken in the peace committee, the respondent police may consider granting police protection.

3.In the light of the above submissions, the fifth respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the petitioner's request. If all the parties, who participated in the Peace Committee Meeting agree to conduct the festival jointly, the respondent police may ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.

4.With the above observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
