PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the Learned Judicial Magistrate, Thuraiyur, to expeditiously complete the trail in S.T.C.No.36 of 2023 pending on the file of the Learned Judicial Magistrate, Thuraiyur, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Honourable Court. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the Learned Judicial Magistrate, Thuraiyur, to expeditiously complete the trail in S.T.C.No.36 of 2023 pending on the file of the Learned Judicial Magistrate, Thuraiyur, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Honourable Court.

2.The petitioner is the sole accused in the S.T.C.No.36 of 2023 in Crime No.17 of 2022, for the offence punishable under Sections 417 of IPC. The grievance of the petitioner is that though the case was registered in the year 2022, so far no progress is made in the trial process.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the respondent police is ready to co-operate to complete the trial process within the time stipulated by this Court.

4.In view of the submissions on either side and considering the oldness of the crime, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial 2/4

Magistrate, Thuraiyur, to expedite the trial process and dispose of the same within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above said directions, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
