O R D E R

After filing a revision petition before the District Revenue Officer, the petitioner seeks the early disposal thereof and also seeks to prevent respondents 2 to 4 from alienating, encumbering or creating third party rights in respect of the subject property. Upon receipt of notice, learned counsel has entered appearance on behalf of respondents 3 and 4. He submits that the relief of restraining respondents 2 to 4 from dealing with the property pending disposal of the revision petition is not maintainable in a petition seeking a mandamus. He submits that he has no objection to the early disposal of the revision petition.

2. Learned Government Advocate submits that the revision petition would be disposed of on merits within three months. 2/5

3. The petitioner has approached the District Revenue Officer by way of revision petition. In case the petitioner seeks interim relief, it is always open to the petitioner to seek such relief before the District Revenue Officer. In a writ of mandamus seeking early disposal of the revision petition, I am not inclined to consider such request.

4. Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the District Revenue Officer to consider and dispose of the revision petition on merits within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to all parties thereto.
