ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to carry out the name change of the petitioner as A. Ezra on the basis of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Publication dated 29.12.2021 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2023 within the stipulated period fixed by this Court.
2. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has already attempted to change his name three times. He is now seeking to change his name based on a paper publication. However, he must approach the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, Bengaluru, for the name change. In support of this, he relied on the communication dated 17.03.2023, which is extracted below:
'It is observed that you have verified your Name and crossed the allowed limit. Hence as per new policy for exception cases of name change, Gazette notification of new name along with any supporting POI document of old name with Photograph (for first/full name change) is mandatory. For Name updation, resident needs to personally visit a Permanent Enrolment Centre (PEC) along with Aadhaar letter since the revised guideline is implemented, your update will be processed and no further update is allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to approach the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, Bengaluru, along with the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette publication and other relevant documents. On such submission by the petitioner, the same shall be considered in accordance with law, at the earliest.
4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. There is shall no order as to costs.
