PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's application in MD6075118571625 dated 12.06.2025 to re-issue the passport to him.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the first respondent to consider the request of the petitioner dated 12.06.2025 for reissuance of the passport.

2. The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.221 of 2017 on the file of the second respondent which has culminated in filing of the charge sheet in C.C.No.281 of 2018 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Nilakottai.

3. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the trial Court concerned seeking the prior permission of the said Court to go abroad. Based upon the order passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Nilakottai, the first respondent is directed to proceed in accordance with law. In case, if any application is filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Nilakottai, the same shall be disposed of within a period of four weeks.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
