Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to remove the encroachment caused in Government Water Channel connecting Semmaan Oorani in Survey No.245/1 with an extent of 1 hector 11 ares, situated at Panthapuli Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tenkasi District within the stipulated time by this Court. ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner alleges that S.No.245/1 of Panthapuli Village is a water body and that encroachments have been committed on the said water body.

3.A look at the "A" register would show that S.No.245/1 has been classified as "Oodai". The learned Additional Government Pleader 2/4

confirms that as many as eight persons have committed encroachment and that notices have already been issued to them. 4.We direct the second respondent to take the process to its logical conclusion and have all the encroachments removed within a period of four months from today ie., 03.06.2025.
