By relying on a sale deed dated 22.10.2010, the petitioner had applied for patta. Upon noticing that the land is classified as 'Sarkar Poramboke', the petitioner had applied to the District Revenue Officer for reclassification. The present Writ Petition relates thereto.
2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of respondents 2 and 3. He submits that the District Collector is the competent authority to consider a request for reclassification. Accordingly, he submits that the petitioner's request for reclassification would be considered and disposed of by the District Collector, on merits within three (3) months.
3. Accordingly, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the District Collector to consider the petitioner's request for reclassification and dispose of the same on merits within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy 2/4
of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. No costs.
