O R D E R

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, on instructions, seeks the permission of this Court to withdraw the Criminal Original Petition and he has also made an endorsement to that effect. It is also prayed by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner may be granted liberty to put forth all his defences at an appropriate stage before the Trial Court and would make a further plea that since the petitioner is aged about 52 years, the trial of the case may be expedited.

2. The Court has heard the submissions made by Mr.C.Ramesh, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the first respondent and Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned counsel for the second respondent/the de facto complainant.

3. The Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. The petitioner is at liberty to raise all his defences at an appropriate stage before the Trial Court. This Court, taking into consideration of the fact that the Special Case is of the year 2012 and that the petitioner is aged about 52 years, directs the Trial Court to give utmost preference, complete the trial and pronounce the verdict, as expeditiously as possible. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
