O R D E R
This Writ Petition is filed in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to grant permission and police protection for conducting cockfight (Vetrukal Seval) to be held on 06.01.2024 and 07.01.2024 between 10.00 a.m. to 06.00 p.m., in S.No.34/2 at Vilaar Village, Thanjavur District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 11.12.2023.
2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that without obtaining proper permission from the Animal Husbandry Department, the petitioner has made a representation seeking permission to conduct cockfight. Because of the non-compliance of the condition, the said representation is kept pending.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner will abide by the conditions to be imposed by the second 2/4
respondent, including obtaining permission from the concerned department.
4. The petitioner can very well move the Animal Husbandry Department through appropriate request and after getting approval, he can make a fresh representation to the respondent seeking permission for conducting the cockfight.
5. With this direction and liberty, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
