ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to issue fresh Passport to the petitioner in his application vide file No. No. TR1067313266325 in Application Reference No. 25-1000466643 dated 10.01.2025 pending on the file of 1st respondent within a reasonable time.
2. The petitioner would submit that he had applied for the issuance of a passport on 10.01.2025 and attended the interview on the date and time allotted. Thereafter, he received an adverse report from the first respondent on account of his alleged criminal antecedent. The said adverse report was based on the report furnished by the second respondent, in view of the registration of an FIR against the petitioner under Section 294(b), 323, 342, 324, 506(ii) @ 294(b) 323, 342, 324 and 506(ii) IPC in Crime No.88 of 2024. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has approached this Court.
3. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent submitted that the charge sheet has been filed and taken on file in C.C. No.24 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Manamelkudi, Pudukkottai District. 2/4
4. In view of the above, the petitioner has to await the outcome of the criminal proceedings and thereafter renew his application for passport. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed, as the petitioner has not made out any case for issuance of a passport pending the criminal proceedings. No costs.
