O R D E R

The petitioner is before this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to sanction a separate electricity service connection to the dwelling house situated at Kundenthalpatti, Pramanampatti Village, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the representation dated 22.11.2023.

2. The petitioner's request has not been considered on the ground that there is already an existing service connection in the premises and, therefore, a second service connection cannot be provided, particularly in view of the objection raised by one of the family members. 2/5

3. The petitioner submits that the residential premises consist of two distinct portions, one occupied by the petitioner and the other by the brother of her deceased husband. Whether the petitioner is residing in a separate portion and is entitled to a separate service connection is a matter that requires consideration by the respondents.

4. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.11.2023 on its own merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the third respondent, and pass appropriate orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
