This Court by its order dated 04.04.2024 has directed the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Special Judge, Thoothukudi to dispose Spl.C.C.No.2 of 2020 within 6 months from the date of receipt of that order.

2. Earlier, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge (FAC), Thoothukudi has circulated a letter dated 01.07.2025 seeking extension of time to dispose the above case, stating that the case has been transferred and taken on file as Spl.C.No.1 of 2025. This Court vide order dated 14.07.2025 granted six months to dispose the above case.

3. Now, once again, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi has circulated a letter dated 06.03.2026 seeking 6 months time to dispose the above case.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that recording of evidence is over and the case is posted for defence on 21.04.2026.

5. Since the case is registered under the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Act and the same is pending from the year 2020 and since on earlier occasion, time was already extended by 6 months, this Court is not inclined to extend the time now as prayed for. Time is extended only for a further period of two (2) months to dispose the Spl.C.No.1 of 2025.

6. Registry is directed to circulate this order copy forthwith to the Trial Court.
