ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the FIR in Crime No.478 of 2024 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences under Section 140 (2) BNS @ Sections 140 (2), 118(1), 127(2), 296 (b), 351 (3) BNS.

2. The gist of the allegation in the impugned F.I.R is that the defacto complainant's brother owed certain money to the 5th accused; that he did not repay the loan and hence, the petitioners had kidnapped the defacto complainant's brother and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the second respondent would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 08.07.2025.

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant / second respondent and the victim are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Ms.S.Seethalakshmi, SSI, E1 Pudur Police Station, Madurai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.478 of 2024 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 08.07.2025 shall form part and parcel of the order. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 29.10.2025 LS TO
