ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the FIR in Crime No. 175 of 2021 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 448, 352, 427 and 506(ii) I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation in the impugned F.I.R is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners had attacked the defacto complainant and others with sticks and caused damages to the property, abused them in filthy language and thus committed the aforesaid offence.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the respondents 2 and 3 would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 17.10.2025.

4. The petitioners and the defacto complainant / second respondent and the victims, viz., respondents 3 and 4, are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.C.Kulanthaivelu, Sub Inspector of 2/4

Police, Panthanallur Police Station, Thanjavur District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of the offences and the compromise between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No. 175 of 2021, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
