PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent No.1 to make necessary correction in Natham Patta No.485 for the property situated in Survey No. 406/26 with an extent about 151.04 sqr Mtr in Sakkammalpuram, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District by considering her representation dated 16.09.2025 within the time stipulated by this court.

ORDER

By asserting that the extent in S.No.406/26 was wrongly mentioned as 40 sq.meters instead of 151.04 sq.metres in natham patta No.485, the petitioner had applied for correction thereof. The present writ petition relates thereto. 2.Learned counsel for the petitioner points out that the Tahsildar has issued a report in this regard to the Revenue Divisional Officer in October 2024. He also submits that the matter has been pending consideration for a long period of time.

3.Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for both the respondents. He submits that the Revenue Divisional Officer would issue orders on merits within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.In view of the above submissions, without making any observations on the merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's request for rectification of defects in the natham patta within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
