COMMON ORDER These Criminal Original Petitions are filed to quash the FIRs in Crime No.138 of 2025 registered for the offences under Section 296(b), 115(2) and 351(2) of BNS, 2023; and Crime No.139 of 2025 registered for the offences under Section 296(b), 115(2) of BNS, 2023, Section 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) and 3(2) (va) of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
2. The accused in one case is the defacto complainant in the other case. The allegations in the FIRs are that on account of dispute with regard to grazing of cattle in farming land, the parties abused each other in filthy language and attacked each other with sticks besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation; and that the accused had also humiliated the defacto complainant on account of his caste and thus committed the aforesaid offences.
3. Due to the intervention of the elders, the parties have now arrived at a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed joint compromise memo separately.

6. The petitioners and the defacto complainant, namely, Arjun (Aadhaar No.7564 6919 5310), Rajendran (Aadhaar No.6384 6184 1636) and Vinoth @ Vinothkumar (Aadhaar No.9713 8152 8013) in both the cases are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.C.Mariappan, Special 8/11
Sub Inspector of Police, Samayanallur Police Station, Madurai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.
7. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent Police would submit that no compensation was received by the defacto complainant in terms of the SC/ST (POA) Act.
8. In view of the same, considering the nature of allegations and the compromise arrived between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIRs pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIRs in Crime No.138 of 2025 and Crime No.139 of 2025 dated 18.07.2025 are quashed and the Criminal Original Petitions are allowed. The petitioners in both the cases shall pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) each as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
