ORDER

This Civil Revision Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Subordinate Judge, Thoothukudi District, to dispose of the suit in O.S.No.17 of 2024, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2.This Court, vide order, dated 24.02.2026, had directed the learned Subordinate Judge, Thoothukudi District, to send a year wise pendency report of the pending cases and in compliance of the same, the learned Subordinate Judge, Thoothukudi District, had sent a report vide proceedings in D.No. 247/2026, dated 26.02.2026, annexing the breakup details with regard to the pendency of the cases arising from the year 2007 to 2025. From the perusal of the same, it is seen that the total number of pending cases is 1978 and the pendency of the cases in the year 2024 is 214. 3.Since the present suit is of the year 2024, the learned Subordinate Judge, Thoothukudi District, is directed to dispose of the suit in O.S.No.17 of 2024, on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible as expeditiously as possible.

4.With the aforesaid directions, the Civil Revision Petition stands disposed of. No costs.

5.This Court placed its appreciation on the learned Court appointed Legal Aid Counsel for the respondent, who has rendered his effective submission for arriving at the appropriate decision. The High Court Legal Services Committee attached to this Bench shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- in toto as remuneration to the learned Court appointed Legal Aid Counsel, who is appearing for the respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
