ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.250 of 2019 on the file of the first respondent Police, which was registered for the offences under Sections 420, 506(i) and Section 24 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

2. The allegation in the FIR is that the first petitioner is the daughter of the defecto complainant; that the petitioners had not treated the defacto complainant well; that the petitioners are attempting to sell the property belonging to the defacto complainant and thus committed the aforesaid offences.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the defacto complainant/the second respondent would submit that the petitioners and the defacto complainant are close relatives and the parties have now entered into a compromise on the advise of the elders and wellwishers and both the parties have agreed that the impugned F.I.R may be quashed.

4.The parties have also filed a joint compromise memo dated 08.10.2025. The scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

5.The petitioners, namely, Krithik Syamala (Aadhaar No.3856 0323 2776), Jiva @ Ganesan (Aadhaar No.8948 1980 6656), Vijayaanandh (Aadhaar No.2422 5812 7410), Vinitha (Aadhaar No. 4021 0609 1039) and the second respondent, namely, Shagunthala (Aadhaar No.5289 3055 3085) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.P.Pandy, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Thiru Nagar Police Station, Madurai. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

6.Considering the nature of the offences and the fact that the dispute is between the mother, daughter and other relatives and that the parties have arrived at a compromise, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.250 of 2019, on the file of the first respondent police, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
