ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.382 of 2022 dated 30.10.2022 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Section 294(b), 323, 342 and 506(1) of IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant and Interest Act, 2003.

The allegation in the FIR is that the defacto complainant's father had received loan from the first petitioner; that the first petitioner had demanded exorbitant interest for the same; and that the petitioners had abused the defacto complainant and his parents in filthy language and assaulted them besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the dispute arises out of a loan transaction and the parties have now arrived at a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 08.10.2025.
4. The petitioners, namely, Rajesh @ Rajesh Kumar (Aadhaar No.5480 3406 7901), Ambalam (Aadhaar No.8767 0275 6046), Shanthi (Aadhaar 2/5
No.5364 7012 8869) and the respondents 2 to 4, namely, Jothimani (Aadhaar No.8249 8796 8104), Raman (Aadhaar No.3953 9186 8490) and Sumathi (Aadhaar No.7514 5048 6025) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.S.Karthikeyan, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Natham Police Station, Dindigul District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the compromise arrived between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.382 of 2022 dated 30.10.2022 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
