ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 6 percentage per annum for the belated settlement of petitioner's husband viz., Late.Anbarasu retirement benefits namely EPF Employee's contribution, Gratuity, Commuted value of pension and leave salary for the period from 28.09.2022 to 07.06.2023 within the time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal benefits of the petitioner's husband payable to the petitioner from the date of entitlement till the date of payment within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No order as to costs.
