ORDER : - This Court has passed the following order: The petitioners/Accused, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 5(4) of Tamil Nadu 1/3

Scheduled Commodities (RDCS) Order, 1982 and 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in Crime No.108 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 22.07.2023, at about 01.00 hours, when the respondent police team was on routine check up, they intercepted a vehicle and found the accused persons, illegally transporting 9700 Kgs of PDS rice. Hence, the vehicle was seized. But the accused persons fled away from the place of occurrence, on seeing the police. Hence the present case came to be registered.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the earlier petition filed by this petitioner was dismissed by this Court by considering the nature of the offences. Without any change in circumstances, the present petition came to be filed.
