Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount payable towards the encashment of 113 days of earned leaves, surrendered by him in the years before his retirement, as admitted by the respondent in the settlement of account, dated 09.05.2022 either based on him monthly wages of the respective months of surrender of those earned leaves, together with 18% interest p.a from the respective due dates or based on the monthly wages payable on the month of his retirement, together with 18% interest from the date of his retirement, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed by a Special Grade Conductor seeking a Mandamus for disbursement of some terminal benefits which are yet to be released.
2. It is the contention of the writ petitioner that he has not been granted surrender leave encashment though he had attained superannuation on 31.03.2022. The petitioner has sent a representation on 03.11.2023 seeking the disbursement of the above said benefits.
3. In view of the above said facts, the respondent is directed to settle the eligible surrender leave salary to the writ petitioner within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order along with 6% interest per annum from 01.04.2022 onwards. 2/4
4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
