This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the first respondent vide his proceedings in G.O.(D).No.611 of the Animal Husbandry Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department dated 08.10.2025 and quash the same as illegal in so far as the non - inclusion of the petitioner's name is concerned and consequential direction to the respondents to promote the petitioner as Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry along with all monetary and service benefits.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the punishment imposed on the petitioner, his name has not been included in the panel list for promotion. Under the impugned order, promotions have been granted to his juniors.
3. A perusal of the impugned order indicates that only the temporary promotions have been granted. The petitioner can challenge an order of promotion only if it is granted on a regular basis. It is the 3/6
prerogative of the respondents to grant temporary promotions to eligible persons and such promotions need not be as per the seniority. As and when promotions are made on a regular basis, it is open for the petitioner to challenge the same.
4. The writ petition stands dismissed with the above observations. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
