ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to cancel the Patta for 16 cents in S.No.2471/2 of Ward No.10, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai, which was erroneously granted in favour of the fifth respondent and to restore the Patta for the 16 cents in the names of Legal heirs of Late A.Sonaimuthu, by considering the petitioner's representations dated 08.07.2025 and 11.07.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties.

According to the petitioner, the property measuring 16 cents in Survey No.2471/2, Ward No.10, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai, originally belonged to Late A.Sonaimuthu and therefore, the legal heirs of Late A.Sonaimuthu viz., the petitioner's mother and the petitioner are entitled to the corresponding Patta. The petitioner's mother died on 24.02.2023. However, due to an erroneous and improper action on the part of the revenue authorities, the Patta for the said 16 cents was wrongly issued in favour of the fifth respondent, who has no lawful claim over the property. On coming to know about the said error, the petitioner submitted detailed representations dated 08.07.2025 and 11.07.2025 to the official respondents, requesting cancellation of the Patta, which was wrongly issued and restoration of Patta in favour of the petitioner.
4. Despite the representations, no action has been taken so far by the authorities, resulting in prejudice to the lawful rights of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court for the relief stated supra.
5. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 4 submits that the petitioner's representations will be considered on its merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 08.07.2025 and 11.07.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representations shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The third respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner, the fifth respondent and also to the other persons, who may be affected by such decision. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
