ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the belated payment of retirement benefits including, Provident Fund, Earned Leave encashment and Voluntary retirement compensation amount along with interest.

2. Considering the fact that the petitioner had made a request for voluntary retirement and his claim is that he is entitled for voluntary retirement compensation and also interest for the delayed payment of his retirement benefits and that the petitioner has also made a representation to the respondents on 10.09.2025 and since there is admittedly delay in payment of terminal benefits, the petitioner is also entitled for interest for the same.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would restrict his claim of interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

In such view of the matter, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.09.2025 with regard to his entitlement to the voluntary retirement compensation amount and to disburse the eligible voluntary retirement compensation amount along with other benefits to the petitioner with an interest of 6% per annum for the delayed payment, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
