ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to permit the petitioner to present the document on the basis of the power of attorney executed by the principal by considering his representation dated 20.06.2023.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the principal executed a general power of attorney in respect of the property in Survey Nos.12/1ABC, 12/4ABC, 12/10, 13/A and 13/2 in his favour. Therefore, he seeks direction to permit him to present the document based on the said power of attorney.

3. The very prayer sought for in this writ petition is not maintainable. As far as the power of attorney in respect of the immovable property is concerned, the same is required to be registered as per Section 17 (h) of the Registration Act, it has been amended in Tamil Nadu Act 29 of 2012 with effect from 01.12.2012. 2/4

4. In such view of the matter, it is for the petitioner to workout his remedy in the manner known to law. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
