ORDER
Heard both sides.
2.Sale deed dated 25.09.2025 was executed by the writ petitioner in favour of one Manoharan. The document was presented for registration. The registering authority declined to register the document on the ground that the guideline value for the petition mentioned survey numbers have not been fixed. Challenging the refusal check slip, this writ petition has been filed.
3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the second respondent has written to the first respondent on 07.08.2025 for fixing the guideline value. The first respondent is directed to complete the entire valuation exercise and fix the guideline value for the petition mentioned survey numbers within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4
The first respondent shall not seek any extension of time. If within eight weeks, the direction of this Court is not complied with, he may have to face contempt. Once the guideline value is fixed, the petitioner can re-present the document in question. The said document will be received and registered. I do not give any direction regarding release because that would have stamp duty implication.
