ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble CHIEF JUSTICE] This Public Interest Litigation has been filed by the petitioner on the apprehension that the seventh respondent, who has made an application seeking grant of permanent licence for establishment of fire crackers shop, may be granted such permission.
2. The petitioner has approached this Court because he found that the seventh respondent in anticipation of getting a licence, has started raising certain construction.
In our opinion, this petition is completely premature and solely based on surmises and conjectures.
3. Learned State counsel would submit that application has been made by seventh respondent, but the same is pending consideration and shall be considered in accordance with law.
4. It is presumed that the State authorities shall act in accordance with law.
The petition, at this stage, is not maintainable and is, accordingly, dismissed with costs quantified at Rs.2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand and Five Hundred) payable to the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, Chennai, within a period of one month.
