O R D E R

The learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner is a Senior Citizen. Based on the complaint of the Petitioner, investigation proceeded in Crime No.278 of 2021 and the investigation had already been completed by the Investigation Officer, who retired from service. Further, he submits that one of the Sub Inspector of Police in Sholavandan Police Station is friendly to the Accused. Therefore, for the reasons best known to the Inspector of Police.

Considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner, on instructions by the Petitioner, who is a Senior Citizen, the Superintendent of Police, Madurai Rural, shall call for the entire Case Diary File and find out, regarding the completion of the investigation by the earlier Inspector of Police, who retired from service and also find out whether the Sub Inspector of Police in the said Station, wantonly not filed the final report before the Court concerned. If it is so, the Superintendent of Police, Madurai Rural, shall initiate appropriate Departmental action against the Sub Inspector of Police concerned.

3. The Superintendent of Police, Madurai Rural, shall also enquire the Defacto complainant in Crime No.278 of 2023, on issuing summons. After enquiry, to file the appropriate report before the Court concerned within a reasonable period, preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Copy of this order shall be sent to the Superintendent of Police, Madurai Rural, Madurai, as well as the Petitioner.

4. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
