O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to sanction and disburse a relief amount of Rs.75,00,000/- (Rupees Seventy Five Lakhs only) to the petitioner's family on account of the death of her husband, who allegedly drowned at sea due to the Cyclone, and also to provide employment to one of the petitioner's family members on compassionate grounds.

2. According to the petitioner, her husband drowned in the sea along with his fishing boat during the cyclone. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 30.10.2023 to the respondents seeking sanction of a total compensation of Rs.75,00,000/-. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the said representation has not been considered till date. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 3 would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 30.10.2023 would be considered in accordance with law. 2/5

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.10.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event, if the said representation is not available, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation before the second respondent and upon receipt of the same, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's fresh representation and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within the aforesaid period.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
