ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceeding in C.C.No.88 of 2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Devakottai, Sivagangai District.

2. The parties are present before this Court. This Court upon enquiring all the parties, the parties also answered that they have amicably settled the issue. To that effect, a joint compromise memo has also been filed by them before this Court.

3. Considering the nature of the allegations that are said to have occurred that is a clash with reference to the election dispute, and the fact that both the sides have since resolved the issue and are living peacefully in neighbourhood, and also considering the fact that a joint compromise memo has also been filed before this Court, I am of the view that this case 2/4

will fall within a realm of private dispute, which can be quashed by this Court irrespective of the heads under which the offences are charged.

4. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
