Respondents (R5 is suo motu impleaded vide order dated 15.10.2025 in W.P.(MD) No.29055 of 2025) PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to rectify the wrong entry incorporated in Town Survey Land Register about the property at Trichy District, Trichy East Taluk, Trichy Town, Devadhanam Village, S.F.No. 46 in which house site lay out formed under the name and style of Sanjeevi Nagar, admeasuring 2200 square feet, plot no. 55 in the light of petitioners representation dated 09.07.2025 within a stipulated period as may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner asserts title to the land in S.F.No.46, ad measuring 2200 square feet, on the basis of a registered settlement deed dated 14.11.2011. On the ground that the Town Survey Land Register wrongly mentioned the extent as 1705 square feet instead of 2200 square feet, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 09.07.2025. The present 2/6

Writ Petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 and 4. Mr.R.Baskaran, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for respondents 2 and 3. Learned Additional Government Pleader submits that authority is vested in the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider an application for rectification of the Town Survey Land Register.

3. In view of the said submissions, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Trichy, is suo motu impleaded as the fifth respondent in this Writ Petition. This order shall be issued after carrying out the amendment in this Writ Petition.

4. This Writ Petition is disposed of, without making any observations on the merits, on the following terms: i.

The petitioner shall file a fresh representation to the Revenue Divisional Officer seeking rectification of the Town Survey Land Register within two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

ii. Upon receipt thereof, the Revenue Divisional Officer is directed to consider and dispose of such representation on merits within three

(3) months from the date of receipt thereof after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.

iii. No costs.
